It's a wild ride!

Once each year, a few short months before Christmas, Edmonton and surrounding area motorcyclists meet by the thousands to make a unique en masse ride across the city.

All those bikes cruising along together makes a pretty imposing sight, but what makes it even more memorable - and incredible - is the fact that each biker in that group of thousands makes the ride with a toy or two riding shotgun.

For a very good cause:

Each time Edmonton's motorcyclists make this ride, they're making sure that Edmonton's underprivileged children have gifts under the tree at Christmas.

From humble beginnings

The Edmonton Motorcycle Toy Run has come a long way since late September 1984, when the first group of 200 motorcyclists made that first toy ride. Since then, the Toy Run has grown year after year. The attendance in 2008 - at our 25th Birthday -  the largest to date - was estimated at between 5000 to 6000 motorcycles at Capilano Mall, 3700 riders actually rode the route to Hawrelak Park.

Since 2008, the motorcycling community has contributed over $110,000 dollars in cash and more than 22,320 cubic feet of toys.  All this - to ensure the less fortunate children of our city have a much brighter smile at Christmas time!

The Edmonton Motorcycle Toy Run has become the annual kick-off in support of 630 CHED'S Santas Anonymous campaign!
